    B&W Photo Challenge: Portrait

"It is not flesh and blood, but the heart which makes us
    fathers and sons."
    ~ Friedrich Schiller

    -----
note: PhotoFriday had it, but I missed it; then
IlloFriday made it a topic, and B&WPhoto Challenge had a "Man" version. Now, they're back. But this time, it's simply "Portrait".

    Illo or Photo?

    full size | flickr

    -----
note: I cannot solely classify this as a photo, nor an artwork or illustration. This is what others may call "Painting with Light", "Camera Painting" or simply, "Camera Toss"...But it's really not tossing a camera now, is it? Thus, I enter it both at Illustration Friday: Run and Photo Friday: Circle.

    Protests are welcome at comments section. };-}

    Illo Friday: Play

"What it utters is its only stock and store
Caught from some unhappy master whom unmerciful Disaster
Followed fast and followed faster till his songs one burden bore -
Till the dirges of his Hope that melancholy burden bore Of 'Never-nevermore."

    - from The Raven, Edgar Allan Poe

    B&W Challange: Indoors (A l'intérieur)

    The Perfect Mid-day Weather

    Windy,
sun's up and not too hot,
    I smell your freshly-washed clothes
as I lay on my back,
slowly shifting from side to side,
gazing into my empty wall with a smile,
looking outside the window with a sigh.

    Days pass by so slow,
like time is crawling on the sea shore.
    Low waves
    touch and wash away
    the sands between its feet,
    standing still,
    looking beyond…

I glued my thoughts to my pillow
as I unbury myself from misery.
    I kneel on my bed
    to look down my window.
A bear road opens up to me,
    the quiet breeze;
    the wind wrapping my cheeks
and as I close my eyes,
    empty whispers
    blowing my hair afloat,
    I hold lightly
    to the cold windowsill.

    Consuming my thoughts,
    I let the faint heat
    unmelt the memories,
    as I lay here,
    just here,
    wanting the moment;
    absorbing it.

    1930's blues on my radio.
Such a perfect lazy day for a Holiday.
    But such a day
    would have been real perfect
if only spent with you *.*

    Photo Friday: Private

    Our Hidden Paradise

One more day left for us to stay. A day in a land we both not knew.
Our feet brought us to a muddy beach tossing tides with empty rum bottles.
We let the rain pass, under a cottage, the sea whipping our feet.
Then we walked on, explored further, til we reached a legendary bay.

We jumped in a boat not knowing where it will go
And we passed by islands thru serene waters
As we reached our last stop, we sighed; realized -
This time, the waves brought us to the perfect spot.

We swam with fishes to their reefs
Hidden beneath the crystal waters we dive
Below, we discovered the beauty of another world
Colors explored in new dimensions, lying more in the deep.

Then as the tides grew lower and sea shells have been gathered,
We walked through the shore from one end to the other
Capturing each detail of the island's magnificence
As a dog lone bear witness to us, as we fall in love -

How did this small island captivate our souls?
The tranquility of its waters hiding the secrets of its pureness?
Maybe the legend was how it captured strangers with their heart
And buries them to the sand, making them loathe leaving

Or maybe we just see ourselves in this hidden haven
Away from people, away from chaos and greed
A sanctuary for our frantic minds, an asylum we long for.
We, in our own private paradise...

Too bad it’s only for a day, too bad it's not forever
Too bad we have to leave, and eventually be separated.
But in the midst of my muddled city life
I still run away from it all.. to meet you there,
       in our special somewhere.

    B&W Challange: Landscape 1

    Soaring Tagaytay for a Day

I left blogging for quite some time, without notice too. But I have gathered up materials to post. Both poetry and photos. I must admit I pass this time from Illo Friday. I don't know exactly when I'll have the time tho. It just requires alot of hours for me to make one. Yes, I know I can post a quick illo, anyone can do that. (and I notice some too) But for me, I do my work with the best that I can, that's how much effort I exert for such passion.

My work-schedule is eating most of my time nowadays, and for the past months too. Sometimes because of the shift of schedules, I need the rest to cope up staying awake at my job. Recently, I had a vacation with My Moogie *.* and we explored places both I have been and not. It was only for a couple of weeks tho, and sometimes I sneak in days for my work too. Oh, how I long for a longer vacation...

But nonetheless, I'd like to thank those who were still passing by and those who sent a note or two. So, here's a photo of Picnic Groove in Tagaytay, on the background you see the Taal Volcano on a cloudy scape. This is also my entry for Black and White Photo Challange, hope I'm not too late.

note: More about my Tagaytay experience on my 43Things update.
