Illo Friday: Depth
Eyes Are Mosaics
you are the blue angel
hovering thru the night
huntress of eternal depth
as the darkness drops again.
your touch -
loom over the horizon
above night blue breeze
outlined in soft bright lights
and i cant live til forever,
in a pile of thunders we wait
you weep thru the shadows
summoning all the fates...
so i come -
longing to look thru your eyes
longing to taste your whispers
longing to hear your footsteps
longing to feel your wraith
longing to be
possessed...
-----
notes:
Story behind the title: I borrowed the title "Eyes are Mosaics" from a song in the album The Moon and the Melodies by Elizabeth Fraser (voice behind Cocteau Twins), Harold Budd, Robin Guthrie & Simon Raymonde. (I hope they wont mind.. hehe) This album was my background music during the first hours making this illo (yes, repeat mode).
Story behind the illo: This is strangely fun to do.. and believe it or not, i made this illo for a total of 17 hours, layering (using cut and paste), zooming at 800%, drinking too much green tea and and stepping 3 feet away from the monitor.. 8) using only MS Paint. I already have my copy of Photoshop CS but havent installed it yet, and i do not think i can draw as freely there unlike ms paint. (sometimes i just cant avoid to like doing things the hard way..)
After finishing the original "painting" i was amazed at how the image appear to convey a different meaning everytime i flip and combine it in different angles. The original bitmap image is 550 x 690 pixels with 96dpi. But i decided to post the multi-images that i devided in two parts. Hope you'd all enjoy staring.. as i did, making. Pls click the images for better view.
This is my favorite illo i made so far. Thanks IF for picking the topic "Depth".
And for the story behind the poem - you be the judge.

The top image looks like two alien women (or angles); the bottom one reminds me of long hair under water! Thanks for your interesting image(s) this week. You are right about it being a favourite entry :)

This illo is gorgeous! The colors are so strong and true, and it has a real mesmerizing quality to it. There's also the feeling of optical illusion..I see different bits of features and then I don't. I can totally imagine that it took you that long to create! I also really like the poem.
Love the blues!
These images almost move they're so swirly and vibrant! They do draw the viewer in and have amazing depth. I see a figure or figures in the top two also, among many other things... The colours are perfect.

The abstract expressionists said that a good painting is one you could flip in any direction and it'd still look great. I'm not sure which one said that though. Tee hee.
