This is the refuge of my thoughts on the complexities of the human mind. And in all the four corners surrounding me, lies the perils of loneliness and desperation, pent up rage and forbidden obsessions. Sort of...
Location: Holland, in my mind... hehe ok, I'm from Manila, Philippines
Heavenly...
Fading night
Fading light
Glow in the dusk
Black velet sky
Hide behind the clouds
No stars in sight
Peep by the distance
Flickering flight
Overcast shadow
Gloomy yet bright
And I see…
And I fade…
This is still and majestic. I love the diagonal line the trees create against the sky, and the large slice of moon echoed by the small moon. The overall texture is a lovely finishing touch. I like your new look her, btw...very nice:>
Dreadful waste of space .. not your illustration LOL; that gives an ominant feel to what is out there in the continuous sky - each speckle might be a suggestion of something - else:) I also like the new look!
There's a lovely tranquil feeling to this. The sense of smallness is well-conveyed, and there are a number of ways to understand this picture. Excellent use of a monochromatic colour scheme white highlignts, along with the black trees.
Carl Sagan once said something along the lines of believing there wasn't any other life out there was just as amazing as believing there was. Whatever, I think it is incredibly rare in the vastness of space and time, which is why keeping this planet alive is so vital...
it would only be a waste of space if you believe that 'we' are the center of the universe.. if you think of 'us' as a passing virus to that same universe it looks quite different... :)
but this painting of yours is really beautiful, no matter the thoughts.. :)
Now, this illo reminds me of when I was camping and spent this one night at the beach. It was fully illuminated by the moonlight. And when I laid down with my head popping out of the tent, the view was exactly like your illo.
lws.. LOL! sure.. its actually a previous post.. im still in the process of updating my template hehe.. crush ko din yang lalaking nakadungaw.. based from an actual picture too. look here: Tranquility
Carla.. thank you, glad to hear you both like the illo and the new twist to the atmosphere here.. some times being constrained within one's walls makes one think of dreamy places.. and let's say this is both from a dream and fantasy..
Anonymous.. see.. it is! also gets me sometimes either spellbound silent or hundred of thoughts run in my head..
on the template, thanks glad you liked it. and im still editing some html at the moment.
Ian T.. indeed, i had a spin feeling of tranquility the time i made this illo.. and a wonderment of how big the universe is, how small our planet is. how big our planet is, how small one person is to this planet, and how strange each of us in our small worlds within ourselves survive in a big big world...
and yeah, it was also Carl Sagan who said the very same last line i wrote above, in his novel Contact.
Toni Kelly.. thanks .. actually when i first finished this.. the trees weren't there yet. then i felt something's missing. when i added it.. it made me fairly satisfied.
vfm4.. mm.. i go more with the "passing virus" theory.. that as Mars may have been a dead planet that was once like earth, so will earth meet its doom.. and spring new life in another. well maybe there is still life out there that we dont know yet.
Caroline.. 8) thanks
Aristocrat.. so interesting.. what a great sight to actually see.. actually this illo is based from one of my dreams.. in a beach! hmm...
isay.. thanks! hee and i have a feeling that light is indeed gradually surrounding me..
Lol. That's a nice dream. My dreams are all macabre and twisted, I donno why. All I dream of are corpses. And recently I have been having the same dream over and over again...
ohh see.. maybe in real life it has a subconscious meaning to it.. i always am into analyzing my own dreams, and have encountered dreams about death and seeing dead bodies myself..
intriguing, compelling verse with art. and a most profound statement in the end if it's just us, it seems like an awful waste of space. and we don't see waste anywhere else in creation...
thanks.. i would like to ponder on things as these indeed, and how big it is out there and yet as people all know that we are the only ones, how ironic that people do not care about nature, when its all that we've got.
Beautiful painting. Thanks for your comment on my piece. They are similar! I love the composition of yours very much. I wouldn't question the space around us. I'm sure it's all there for a reason and it's most likely what's keeping us afloat. :)
thanks for visiting cbobak.. i havent opened this page in a while and i didnt realized til today that you placed a comment. i just hoped you have your link as well so i can go back to your blog.

Just beautiful!
I love the simple lines and texture.
greta use of negative space in your tree line

strange indeed.. but psychologically, death in dreams signifies that something is finally over, or an end of a cycle. But if it is recurring.. hmm...
Well, this particular one signified an ending, a closure of sorts. Finally the bodies were found, by me of all people...
ohh see.. maybe in real life it has a subconscious meaning to it.. i always am into analyzing my own dreams, and have encountered dreams about death and seeing dead bodies myself..
Awake with day dreams, suffering with one.
Blue that day, Blue that night. Blue is comming from your eyes.
Love art with words and word with art.
..and as blue cometh- blue conquered. blue remained. blue bluer bluest!
hee.. me too. Love art with words..
intriguing, compelling verse with art. and a most profound statement in the end if it's just us, it seems like an awful waste of space. and we don't see waste anywhere else in creation...
brilliant...
