Illo Friday: Change

... from MS Paint to Camera Paint



A face among the crowd
like a passing storm
  her rain passed thru
she once knew the incomprehensible view
cast the twilight into the ravine
craving the desire of falling in

she must confront the inanity
  of the monsoon
as she sprinkled the stardust
to her eyes too soon

she could have carried her shadow
as she listened to the silence of the night
sweeping the echoes
making her senses fade

the guerdon of what she knew
is not the virtue of what she owe
she shouted to the oceans to halt
as she felt her feet slide
carrying her consciousness aside.

she woke up and saw
  that she was alone again
in the vast emptiness of her yearnings,
as all surroundings, time, and landscapes
were blanched, robbed of color and relief

an impassioned poet in a void
occupied by an empty rhythm and beat
all around her was an endless ocean
a great soundless hole swallowing her.

hearing whispers of undecipherable words
teaching herself not to cry
to make that big leap, that big change
as she let time consume her
and let her dreams pass by

but in the end of it all
  she remained knowing
she's not another face alone in the crowd
as she hang on to that amber july.
