Illo Friday: Robot
Are we alone?
stare into the blank light below
signs calling out to what's beyond
is there something out there?
is there someone out there?
sometimes we wish there would be
as to escape the mess we made here
but is there really somewhere else to go?
a better place, should we even hope?
moving about we travel
we gain thought and more to wonder
but are we sticking to one path, one routine?
do we seek answers to questions with no meaning?
reopen the past to make changes
recreate history all over
is there a key to the universe?
is there something we have yet to discover?
or are we just lost
in our own demise
and selfish consumption?
We are the robots of our time.

The uneven line that leads to or allows escape from the circle is a relief. As perfect and beautiful as it is, it's not a space where most of us could stay very long.
Your words are troubling and intrigueing, beautiful!
Very interesting take on the subject!
Awesome take on this week's topic...and, rather creepy! :) Great job!
This is a very thoughtful interpretation. I like the strange crop circles...with your words, it makes me stop and wonder...
i'm not sure.
but i feel alone these days :(
hardwax.. yes, i was thinking if one would stay there long, he'd either be abducted or see something looming over him. 8) troubling and intriguing? hmm.. now that made me re-read what i wrote...
AscenderRisesAbove.. 8) thanks
TXArtcGal.. lol thanks! had a creepy dream about crop circles when I was a kid. So when the film 'Signs' came I don't wanna miss it. Kinda disappointed me in a way coz the crops were not the focus. but anyway.. thanks for dropping by.
carla.. thanks. guess the mystery of the crop circles also induces great wonder indeed
dreaming-neko.. ooh... why? tssk are you ok, man? hold on to those dreams.. i'll drop by your blog today.
great pairing of words and pic
that last line was especially
good
damning and chilling
if we (human race) are alone
it could be our fault
cheers
thanks floots! well, yes, it has been found that these crop circles are not mystical signs, but hand made by a few people for years. in a way, this illo and poem demonstrates how we fail to 'send the message out there'...
oh! oh! I see a Robot Mommy feeding spaghetti to her Robot Baby! mmm njam! ..hmm do I see the beginning of the Flying Spaghetti Monster? hihi ^_^ huugss
