Illo Friday: Cars
for illustration friday topic cars, and how you ride your life
sometimes, i feel guilty to myself.
will i ever make a living out of the things i love to do? or just as always, learn to love the things that i do that earns a living?
sometimes i envy the painters, poets and writers, who just sit back and do these things that they most enjoy and still make it from day to day.
sometimes society forces us not to be ourselves just so we can survive. despite being adaptable, flexible and easily taught, we camouflage ourselves just to blend in.
sometimes i lack the time for myself to ever pick up the pen and write down my thoughts. and oh, how i would love to paint again! but it's the daily errands and my job that's keeping me from myself.
sometimes i say to myself, it's all a matter of managing time. but time cannot be bought and time cannot be brought back.
sometimes, the day pass by in a robotesque way that time easily slip without knowing how it breezed out so fast.
sometimes, yes, sometimes, time is a vehicle that pushes us to travel in a direction we control but cannot choose otherwise. it drives in a straight line or destined path that we tend to hold to the steering wheel and concentrate on looking ahead. and by not looking at your sides, you miss all the breathtaking and wonderful sights... that when you finally stop and look around, you realize that you just missed something beautiful that could have been significant and might have changed your life.

nope, i didn't drew any car here. its a shot i took while in a car, mixed and edited thru picasa and 7 patches and over-layers in ms paint.
What you say can be very true! Are those lights poles at the side of the road?
well this is an explanation too why i havent updated any of my blogs in a while..
and about the light posts, they are actually in between two roads. what you see here is the south-bound road on the other side after the poles is the other lane. 8)
Just dropped on in via BlogFlux.
I was wondering if you felt that maybe time wasn't the only culprit. After all, having to focus even while wanting to focus blinds us. I notice one of the movies you like is "High Fidelity" - to what degree was John Cusack's character spoiled since he was living his dream?
well the fact that he thought he was not living his dream by having 5 other dream jobs in his list.. we all tend to search for a mountain of gold but all along standing on one... and yes, maybe i am guilty of that too..
thanks for droppin by ashok.. 8)
great illo! and I really enjoyed reading your post as well. you've made me think :]
Added you to YIM, although I stopped using Instant Messengers of any sort recently.
Is it possible to e-mail you in order to keep up? I am curious, btw, how you found my myspace.
bluerose.. thanks.. and the comments as as well give me thoughts to ponder on too.
ashok.. well im not a YM person too, but i found your myspace link while reading on one of your posts on the other blog in your profile. hehe.. 8)
For me the answer is to realize small dreams instead of trying to reach the gold mountain! :) Love your "inside car".
at least someone 8) is reminding me also of taking small dreams step by step..
thanks for sharing your thoughts on this post..
Oh! It has been a while since you last posted. Your image illustrates the sadness barring the hopes and dreams in your your background. The red signifies the pain right in front of you. But you have to hold on, for what lies in the future is a great and wonderful deal.
Hey, I haven't seen you in ages. It's good to hear from you again.
One of the reasons I'm a socialist is because I hate this capitalist society where day in and day out ordinary people have to work in unfullfilling and worthless jobs just to survive.
Since we last exchanged comments, I started a job in admin for a charity and it's the most frustrating thing. I'm not helping people. I'm pushing paperwork so the charity gets its money and the government gets credit for work it doesn't do.
I'm a socialist because I want to live in a society where I can spend my time doing things I enjoy.
james.. gee.. thanks for such inspiring words.. this may sound silly but it actually gave me goosebumps..
benjamin solah.. it has been a long time indeed! how are yah?
i havent been blog hoppin as well as not visiting BE in a while. and like you, most of my work is about paperwork too.. and i also want to live in a society where I can spend my time doing things I enjoy.
but i guess, that kind of society is not really possible for all.. but i still have my hopes..
Great image, and I like your words too. I can relate. And I think you have more choice than you give yourself credit for. :-)
Seize the day!
