i never went to art school. my folks cant afford it then and always say there is no money in art. but i always loved art ever since i was a little girl. i drew on walls, notebooks, tables at school.. ha! but i never have kept a sketch book.
today i saw a post by racheal and this made me think twice of not having one. my job is not related to art in any way, but i sure need an escape sometimes and drawing and painting has always been my frustration. now should i consider myself a canned frustrated artist? lol..
20 Park your thoughts here:
gee! 300 IF posts and its only tuesday.. now pardon the mistakes on my illo im rushing coz i need to go to work in an hour.
i'll be blog hoppin later..
I like your play with Warhol here. :0)
I think it's a great idea for you to have an artist's journal to sketch in at odd moments. Why not?
well i always have a small notebook handy that i bring everyday. (tons of them now lol) i used to write a lot of poems there and if a line strikes me out of nowhere, i write it down. im more into writing before, but i guess now that i deal with words and talking at my work, it somehow leaves me with a writer's block. i guess i never really had a journal for artworks coz i focus more on poetry before..
but yeah now id definitely start one.. better late than never.. hehe! 8)
Your not only a canned artist but also Canned Heat..
*.*
haaaaaaa.. silly.. *.*
I have lots of books filled with sketches and snippets of writing that if my children ever found I would be locked up.
ha! i can only imagine.. };-}
well we all have our "dark secrets"..
You're a very good looking can Velvet but understand why you *SIGH*! I would be an atomic EXPLOSION!
Welcome to the King Jack Appreciation Society! You are now a member BWARK!

i am honored to be in the society. now my first task is.. make a jack portrait!
ah ah...canned art! it seems a good idea to me,better then warhol...why not?
ha! but of course a student can never surpass the teacher.. eh hypothetically speaking at least. 8)

beautiful velvet!
many of your illustrations are saved digitally isn't it? you can also print them and make it into an album-
oh!! thanks for that great idea isay.. havent thought of that. 8) well let's see it could depend on the cost of printing here.. id check it out this weekend since i need to print out post cards as well.
great post, love your tribute to warhol. Canned Sighs could be very popular, especially the atomicvelvet kind :) i have spent my life painting and drawing every day. I look at it like I have an opportunity to express and create as much as possible and i take it!
Canned Sighs could be very popular, especially the atomicvelvet kind :) .. nice line 8)
now im really really excited and encouraged to finally have a daily sketchbook..
The main purpose of going to school for artists is simply to give you a context to do what you want to do anyway, and maybe a credential or two. If you're doing it anyway, then it's all good.
I saw a documentary not long ago where another artist (I don't remember who) talked about going to Warhol's place for lunch and being served...Campbell soup. Apparently it's what he ate at home.
well i guess you're right about art schools.. anyway that campbell soup is indeed a cool idea being served at warhol's! ha! 8D
